MNF

Reporting ever-so-briefly from sunny San Diego, where I'll be in the stands for the Broncos victory over the Chargers tonight. With luck, the young miss and I will not be beaten to death by angry Chargers fans on the Trolley after the game.

Nice city, this. I could spend more weekends drinking here without being too upset about it. Nabbed me a hell of a haircut, to boot, where my barber used one of these old school baddies on me after the hot neck shave.

Whoa!?! Hold the freakin’ phone here Andy. You’re a Broncos fan?? This changes everything.

Well, until my Colts lay yet another playoff beating on them ;)

Enjoy (for now, the schedule gets much tougher down the road).

BTW, my one & only MNF game I saw in person was Nov. of 1981 in Denver against the Vikes. The Ponies won on a last second Minny missed FG. Could see Howard & Dandy Don across the way with my binos.

A couple months later I was getting some awesome haircuts in San Diego too, courtesy of the US Marine Corps.

Try and not get stabbed.

Charger fans can die in a fire.

Agreed: Sandy Eggo is a nice place to spend some time.

I'd talk some smack but I'm a Raider fan. So there's that...

Lived in San Dog for ten years courtesy of Uncle Sam's Navy. It was a tough choice to leave when I retired, but as I sit on the sidelines and watch California implode, I think it turned out to be a wise choice.

Enjoy your stay!

tim - no need for reminders of my Broncos hideous shortcomings in the postseason when they share the field with the Colts. But hey, nothing lasts forever.

Mat - the fans were mostly very gracious. There was one nutjob trying to get a rise out of me, but it's hard to care when it comes from someone so obviously ridiculous.

Buck - sho 'nuff.

Peter - You beat the Eagles Sunday. That's something, right? Of course, Cable knows a thing or two about beatings, doesn't he?

Alison, Knuckler, BR - I had a blast, thanks!

Barber, huh. I kind of miss going to the ol' shop every now and again. But since I have no hair, and shaving a head bald is a lost art, I'll just stick with quattro. Did the kid go?

And Nick comes from nowhere with comment! Good to see you back here, buddy.

It was not an old-fashioned type barber shop, but it was something I would like to find here near my house: Attractive, friendly women with actual hair cutting ability who do it the right way. They use scissors, and that hold-the-hair between-the-two-first-fingers-to-trim-it-even technique, which the Supercuts of the world have abandoned for the total-electric-trimmer haircut. Then they go into the hot towel and hot shaving cream on the neck for the straight razor neck shave. Outstanding. And of course the little steampunk style massage device from 1950-something caps it all off nicely.

It's a great haircut.
